Alo Coffee was born from a dream and a leap of faith. Having witnessed the struggles of coffee producers and the frustration of undervalued labor, former electrical engineer Tamiru Tadesse hesitated to launch his own venture. That changed in 2020 with Ethiopia’s first ever Cup of Excellence (CoE), proving world-class quality could be rewarded. Together with his wife, Messi, Tamiru set out to showcase Sidama’s true potential. In 2021, their very first submission—from their home village of Alo—won 1st Place in the CoE.

This coffee is sourced from their Dume station (named after the region's rich red soil), and the JARC 74158 variety showcases signature floral, peach, and honey notes.

Cherries are hand-picked, flotation-sorted, depulped, and slowly shade-dried on raised beds to 10.8% moisture.
