From TAITH

Bekele Yutute owns three coffee farms in Bensa Woreda, Sidama: Dambi, Kokose, and Murago. Kokose sits highest, reaching 2,345 meters above sea level.

In 2021, Bekele began cultivating JARC 74110 coffee at Kokose with his brother-in-law, Samuel. Their work was soon recognised, placing 5th in the 2021 Cup of Excellence (CoE) and 3rd in the 2024 CoE.

Kokose lies on an open mountainside, where cool temperatures and frequent cloud cover shape the growing environment.

Mecota Trading is an Ethiopian exporter specialising in green coffee from smallholder farmers across the country. Founded in 2023, Mecota supports farmers by consolidating microlots into exportable volumes and promoting traceable, direct trade. Its model encourages fair, sustainable trade and improves transparency offering an alternative to the traditional Ethiopian Commodity Exchange, where traceability is often limited
