From SEY
This is our first year working with the Ndwiga Family. Nginda Estate is a small family farm and a neighbor of our exporting partners, Kamavindi, who presented us with a sample of this delightful lot. In the cup we find red currant, rose hips, and hibiscus.
ABOUT THE NDWIGA FAMILY
The Ndwiga family farms a small plot in Embu County on the slopes of Mt. Kenya. While we do not know much about them at this time, we look forward to visiting Nginda Estate and learning more when we return to Kenya in the fall.
ABOUT THIS FIELD BLEND*
We believe this lot from the Ndwiga Family is composed entirely of the main Kenyan SL varieties. However, recent genetic testing on other farms has begun to challenge long-held assumptions about which varieties are actually being cultivated in Kenya. This remains an ongoing research project, and we will share the updated findings as the story unfolds!
