From SEY
This is the second harvest pass from Wilson Alba this season. His work with Pink Bourbon continues to inspire, and each opportunity to taste his coffee affirms just how special his approach is. In the cup we find berry compote, lemon zest, and hibiscus.
ABOUT WILSON ALBA
For the past 15 years, Wilson Alba has lived and worked alongside his brother Jose (whose coffee we have also purchased) on their farm, Sierra Morena. Spanning eight hectares (~20 acres), the farm includes two hectares planted with Pink Bourbon, with the remainder in Tabi. Sierra Morena consistently produces some of the finest Pink Bourbon we taste from southern Huila, and it is an honor to roast and share their exceptional coffees.
ABOUT PINK BOURBON
Pink Bourbon is a relatively new variety being grown primarily in and around Huila, Colombia. The variety has been identified genetically as an Ethiopian Landrace, but unfortunately, we cannot be any more specific as to its origins until there is a larger genetic database.
