From SEY

This is our final release from the Elora project in Arbegona, and while we are sad to see this series come to a close, we are proud to share this last selection. In the cup we find peach rings, watermelon, and lemon zest.

ABOUT ELORA LOT #156

This lot comes from Arbegona, one of our favorite coffee-growing regions in Ethiopia and the source of some of our most memorable coffees. This year marked the beginning of a new project in collaboration with the Elora site, and this fully washed separation is the final release of the season—closing out an exciting first year of what we hope will be a long-term partnership.

ABOUT ETHIOPIAN LANDRACE

Ethiopia is widely acknowledged as where coffee originated, and its production continues to represent a significant part of the country’s economy. DNA testing has confirmed over 60 distinct varieties growing in Ethiopia, making it home to the most coffee biodiversity of any region in the world. Given the tradition of coffee production in Ethiopia and the political interworkings of the Ethiopian coffee trade, it is virtually impossible to get single variety coffee lots from Ethiopia. This is changing, albeit very slowly. Most Ethiopian coffees are blends of the many Ethiopian varieties, and referred to simply as 'Ethiopian Landrace'.
