From MOK
Chirripo is a mountain village located in Brunca, a coffee growing region in Costa Rica. It is the southernmost coffee growing region in the country, right on the Panamanian border. What differentiates Brunca from the other (7!) coffee regions in Costa Rica is both its mountainous geography and very humid environment. This humidity, the different altitudes, plains and valleys and the volcanic soil create various microclimates that each produce a wide variety of outstanding coffees. The mountain range, named Talamanca, divides Brunca in two climates, namely Pacific and Atlantic, or West and East. The West climate particularly is exceptionally humid, averaging between 85 and 100%, and this is where Finca Los Tonos is located. This lot is a 100 % SL 28, Naturally processed coffee from Finca Los Tonos and Corazon de Jesus.
Very juicy and vibrant cup profile balancing on sweet and sour, with distinct notes of Umeboshi cherry, candied cherry, raspberry and rich, dark chocolate.
