Roaster's Note
Did you know that our Ethiopia decaf is one of the customer's most favorites at Kurasu?
For 2024, we have got our decaf from West Arsi in Ethiopia. It's a different area to the previous area, Sidamo, we've got the last year's supply from, but with the recent change in the administrative divisions in Ethiopia in consideration, technically speaking West Arsi is a part of a larger area that is Sidamo.
Ethiopia goes through frequent division changes and it may makes it a bit complicated to grasp the sense of locations and areas, but this change in the sourcing location does not change the fact that this decaf is yet another great one to enjoy.
The floral aroma and fruitiness of stone fruits with citrusy flavor equal the quality of the great Sidamo decaf.
It being a medium roast with a thorough roasting process means it also makes a great cold brew and espresso.
Takuya, Head roaster
This coffee is treated with a decaffeination method called Mountain Water Process, a water-based treatment.
97.36% caffeine removed: significantly above standard of Japanese threshold for decaf coffee (which is 90%.)
