From ONYX

Ronnie Gabrie was one of the first producers we began working with in Santa Barbara five years ago. Apart from producing perfectly processed and dried microlots on his farm, Ronnie operates as a coffee buyer himself for a multi-national operating within the country. This knowledge from buyer to producer lends to his prowess, which is shown in this innovative natural-processed offering.

Benjamin Paz is a renowned coffee producer, roaster, and exporter based in Santa Barbara, Honduras. In addition to managing his own award-winning farm—earning 1st place in this year’s Honduras Cup of Excellence—he serves as the vital link for the Santa Barbara region through his mill and export company, San Vicente. Benjamin fosters connections between hundreds of producers and roasting partners, supporting growth and collaboration across the community.

A true icon in the coffee world, Benjamin’s work is driven by a deep passion for coffee and the people who cultivate it. Through San Vicente, we’ve developed lasting partnerships with nearly a dozen producers in Santa Barbara. Each harvest season, we gather to share meals, discuss the year’s crop, and explore new opportunities together.

Ronnie Gabrie
Ronnie Alfredo Gabrie Salles has been a cornerstone of our partnerships in Santa Barbara since we began working in the region five years ago. Not only does he produce meticulously processed microlots at his farm, Finca Los Colibrí, but he also brings decades of experience as a coffee buyer for a multinational company, where he now serves as marketing manager. This dual perspective—from producer to buyer—shines through in the exceptional quality of his coffee, including this standout natural process offering.

Ronnie’s journey in coffee began early. Growing up in San Luis Planes, Santa Barbara, his father operated a small farm but only sold cherries to intermediaries. By age 15, Ronnie was buying and reselling coffee on school vacations. In 1983, he joined a coffee trading company as an intern and steadily rose through the ranks. His first attempt at farming specialty coffee from 1998 to 2006 faced challenges due to low elevation, but in 2014, inspired by the region’s potential, he founded Finca Los Colibrí at 1,450 meters above sea level. Spanning 5.25 hectares, Finca Los Colibrí is planted with a diverse selection of varieties: Parainema, Catuai, Yellow Catuai, Java and a little bit of Bourbon. Ronnie’s dedication to cultivating exceptional coffee is a testament to his lifelong commitment to the craft and his vision for specialty coffee in Honduras
