From LILO

【Cupping comment】

①Vibrant flavors of cranberry and raspberry that unfold gracefully.

② A subtle hint of white wine with the aroma of black tea.

③ A syrupy, smooth sweetness that lingers.

This lot is handled by Niguse Gemeda Muge, who won the 2020 Cup of Excellence.

The Morke Drying Station (DS) purchases cherries from his own farm and small-scale farmers within a 5km radius.

You might be surprised by the 【Altitude】— 2340 to 2420 meters!

This is an exceptionally high elevation for coffee cherry production, even by global standards. The slow maturation process at such heights enhances the cherries' acidity and flavors. Moreover, the average temperature is about 14–15°C, which means there are very few pests, so no pesticides are used.

Surrounding the Morke DS is a stretch of natural forest, where you can also find ensete (Ethiopian banana), a plant consumed in this region. While it resembles a banana in appearance, the edible part is the starch stored in its rootstock.
