From COFFEE COLLECTIVE

A vibrant espresso with a tropical profile. Expect a prominent sweetness with notes of bergamot, jasmin and mandarin

Our partnership with Aga was born from our deep desire to find a partner in Yirgacheffe, with which we can ensure more transparent payments to the farmers for whom they are processing cherries. This is the second year we are working directly with Habtamu Aga Fekadu and his washed process offering. After last year's harvest became one of our best-performing coffees, we are excited to share his coffee once again, formally named "Worka" now under the new name, Aga.

Aga is grown in the southern part of the Yirgacheffe region in the Gedeb woreda, where coffee is the cornerstone of agriculture, and offers the best-paying cash crop for the local community. Habtamu Aga Fekadu collaborates closely with 250 family-owned farms, who bring their coffee cherries to his washing station for processing. These farmers, some owning less than an acre of land, deliver their cherries to Habtamu's community washing station, for processing and selling.

Aga embodies everything we love about this magical part of the world—exceptionally aromatic with transparent stone fruits, lively acidity, and lingering floral notes.

Aga is a washed process coffee with a slightly extended fermentation period, which contributes to its transparently fruity flavour profile.

The process begins with the careful depulping of the cherries, followed by 72 hours in soaking tanks. This extended soaking period is possible due to the smaller production, allowing the cherries to soak longer and enhance the coffee’s sweetness without compromising its exceptional clean profile.
