Located in the Pitalito region of Huila in southwestern Colombia, the Guzman family has been producing coffee for over 70 years. Elkin, the third generation, has become a pioneer in fermentation techniques. Since around 2005, he has developed unique fermentation processes such as carbonic maceration and natural lactic-acid and acetic-acid processes, along with natural hydro honey. His farm's social media accounts receive messages from coffee producers worldwide seeking advice, from Africa to Indonesia and Singapore.

Elkin never forgets the consumers who will ultimately enjoy his coffee. He emphasizes the importance of maintaining interest in the coffee even after it leaves the farm, as building long-term relationships through repeat purchases is vital for producers. "The coffee industry won't grow without the end consumers who pay at cafes and feel satisfied with their coffee," he says. That's why he always keeps the consumer in mind.

Elkin values customer feedback greatly, continually exploring processing and fermentation methods to meet diverse regional needs. His partnership with the exporter Clearpath Coffee has been particularly beneficial, allowing direct communication with customers via email and WhatsApp, enhancing understanding of their needs. This collaboration has fostered a synergistic and mutually beneficial relationship.
