To tell the story of Sítio São Francisco, now run by Guy Carvalho, it is necessary to go back in time and tell the story of his mother. Daughter of coffee growers, at the age of 23, Izabel Cecílio Ribeiro Carvalho, called Dona Nenê, married Guy Carvalho Ribeiro, also the son of coffee growers. Still young, however, she became a widow and had to assume the responsibility of caring for her four children. To support her family, she decided to invest in coffee, thinking about her children's future. In 1983, she bought her first piece of land and planted her first coffee plantation. And that's how it all began: with great dedication, faith and hope.
His son Guy has been taking care of the property for a few years, but Dona Nenê continues to support and maintain it. Guy, in addition to being a producer, also works as a consultant and provides support to other coffee producers throughout Brazil. Sítio São Francisco is located in a region where coffee is very traditional and stands out for its excellent quality. The property also stands out in terms of environmental protection. About 40.5 hectares are dedicated to native forests and legal reserves, which helps to balance and preserve the environment.
