KAWA - Hamasho Kebina Adnan - Ethiopia - Natural - Heirloom

Adnan is a privately owned car wash located in Hamasho Kebena village, Sidama Zone, Ethiopia. The car wash is one of 26 owned and operated by Testi Coffee, a family business founded by Mr. Faysel A. Yonis.

Situated at 2,200m above sea level, Adnan produces exceptional batches of washed, natural and special blends. The site was built by Testi in 2021 as a ‘premium’ facility, and selected for its natural advantages – including its high altitude, the characteristics of the surrounding region and access to fresh, clean water. By choosing sites in areas with ideal growing conditions and paying premiums for properly harvested fruit, Testi ensures that it receives only the highest quality cherries, resulting in exceptional complexity and distinction in the cup.

The Adnan washing station currently employs three permanent employees and around 160 seasonal workers, depending on the intensity of the season. During the harvest, freshly picked coffee cherries are delivered daily by around 500 independent smallholders from neighbouring kebeles in Bura district. At the washing station, Testi separates and processes each delivery of cherries from each kebele as a separate batch, providing increased traceability.
