From KAWA
A subtle coffee with fruity, floral and sweet notes of white peach, jasmine & lime.
The Lamastus family has been growing coffee at Elida Estate since 1918. Today, three generations of Lamastus men run the farm: grandfather Thatcher, son Wilford and son Wilford Jr. They share the same passion for producing high-quality coffees.
This lot is a Geisha, a variety that does particularly well at high altitude in Panama, where growing conditions are similar to those in the Ethiopian highlands where it was first cultivated. Several batches of Panama Geisha have won the Cup of Excellence and broken price records.
The Elida estate is located close to Volcan Baru National Park, with part of the estate within the park itself. The park is a protected World Heritage Site, an ecological reserve and a sanctuary for native plants, birds and animals, including a tropical tiger.
The part of the estate inside the park is a protected forest reserve. The remaining 35 hectares are planted with Catuai, Geisha and Typica.
