From KAWA
A delicate coffee filled with the finesse of the Geishas of Panama, it will reveal notes of pineapple, white tea and mirabelle plum in the cup.
The Lamastus family have been growing coffee at Elida Estate since 1918, and also own the El Burro farm. Today, three generations of Lamastus men run the farm: grandfather Thatcher, son Wilford and son Wilford Jr. They share the same passion for producing high-quality coffees.
This lot is a Geisha, a variety that does particularly well at high altitude in Panama, where growing conditions are similar to those in the Ethiopian highlands where it was first cultivated. Several batches of Panama Geisha have won the Cup of Excellence and broken price records.
The El Burro estate is located close to Volcan Baru National Park, with part of the estate within the park itself. The park is a protected World Heritage Site, an ecological reserve and a sanctuary for native plants, birds and animals, including a tropical tiger.
