This coffee from the Kii Washed station is a great example of what we love about Kenyan coffees. In the cup, you’ll find notes of dried fig, bergamot, and a herbal note reminiscent of black tea. It’s a coffee with a honeyed, enveloping body—very sweet—and a gentle acidity reminiscent of dried fruit. Its aroma and flavor may also remind you of plum, raw honey, and papaya. The aftertaste is long and very pleasant.

The Kii processing plant belongs to the Rungeto Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS), a cooperative that brings together more than 850 smallholder farmers in the Kibugu district, in the heart of Kirinyaga.
