Founded around 30 years ago by Jose Uribe Lasso, this family-run farm lies at 1,750–1,850 meters above sea level. Fertile volcanic soil and differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures provide favorable conditions for growing coffee.

Today, his sons Nestor and Adrian Lasso carry on the family’s work, focusing on specialty coffee production. They also preserve native forest on part of the farm, helping protect local wildlife and biodiversity.

We have been sharing coffees from El Diviso at LiLo for years. Their distinctive flavors keep things exciting, while their quality remains consistently reliable. It is a familiar farm at LiLo, and one our head roaster, Keita Nakamura, continues to trust.

Learning and Experimenting: The Lasso Brothers’ Approach

Coffee has been part of the Lasso brothers’ lives since childhood. At SENA, Colombia’s national vocational training institution, they studied cultivation, processing, quality control, and sensory evaluation, bringing that knowledge back to the farm. Alongside growing a range of varieties, they continue to refine their fermentation and drying methods.

For this lot, carefully selected ripe cherries undergo approximately 32 hours of fermentation in sealed, oxygen-limited conditions, followed by around 40 hours exposed to air. After pulping, the beans are immersed for approximately 80 hours in “mosto,” a fermentation liquid obtained from coffee cherries. Washing and drying follow these stages. With close attention to timing and conditions throughout, the process reflects the farm’s dedication to experimentation.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0767/5101/2119/files/COLOMBIA_El_Diviso_Pink_Bourbon_Anaerobic_Washed_1.webp?v=1793212748
